Jay C. Clifton III
Jay C. Clifton III Esq. is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He attended the illustrious Fisk University from 2002-2006 where he majored in Psychology and Philosophy. Upon graduation began his master degree pursuit at Vanderbilt Divinity School.
He graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2009 and instead of pursuing a doctorate degree, Attorney Clifton decided to pursue his legal career and enrolled in the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Although his law school career placed heavy emphasis on Tax Law, Attorney Clifton found his purpose in Criminal Defense Practice. When he graduated from Memphis Law in 2013, he opened Clifton Law Office in 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Attorney Clifton has been a criminal defense attorney for over ten years; specializing in both federal and state law representing clients in a wide range of criminal cases from simple possession of a controlled substance charges all the way to high-profile federal R.I.C.O. cases.
He has extensive trial and litigation experience in complex criminal defense cases. His practice areas include Davidson County and all neighboring counties, including but not limited to Sumner County, Williamson County, Rutherford County, Giles County, and Shelby County.

Gionna Clifton
Gionna Clifton is a proud native of Chicago, Illinois. She attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, from 2015 to 2019, where she earned her degree in Biology. After graduation, she spent a year working as a Research Development Technician to further explore her passion for science.
Through that experience, she realized her interests were evolving and made the decision to shift her career path. In 2023, she became the Office Manager at Clifton Law Office. In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing administrative processes, and ensuring the firm runs with efficiency and professionalism. Her background in science sharpened
her analytical thinking and organizational skills, which she now applies to her work in the legal field.
